What could be the last group of Americans who don't yet know Beckham's story - the viewers of the CBS News series "60 Minutes" - got a full profile on the world's most famous footballer in the latest edition of the Sunday program, on March 23. The long-running TV series has an elderly viewer base who tend to also be caucasian and less likely to be sports fans, with little-to-no significant sports knowledge about even the most famous soccer stars.
This is why it was good to see the last bastion, if you will, acknowledging David's importance in sports. The segment concentrated on his soccer career, and thankfully did not talk much about the other elements of his life on which most of these types of mainstream news programs usually concentrate.
