Development News: Updates on Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico in the U.S.
from MVN Soccer,
The 2008 U.S. Tours of the top two men's teams in the world (according to FIFA's World Rank) - Argentina and Brazil, respectively, along with the current version of the annual American tour of our top CONCACAF rival - Mexico, are all upon us now.
Here's the latest result, and a preview of what's to come...
Number Two ranked BRAZIL kicked off their stateside visit this weekend with a friendly in Seattle versus CANADA. This match was held at the stadium which will serve as home venue of the SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC, the 2009 MLS expansion franchise. Qwest Field currently is home to the NFL's Seahawks, and several staff and players from that team showed up for Brazil's workouts and pregame warmups, as well as for the match itself.
BRAZIL was missing some of its major stars -most notably Ronaldinho, and the most notable inclusion on CANADA's side for American fans was their goalkeeper Pat Onstad, also the number one GK for Houston Dynamo, the 2-time defending MLS Cup champions.
Final score: BRAZIL 3 - 2 CANADA

The latter will play host to the former at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium this Wednesday before a sold-out crowd which will set a new all-time mark for highest-attended soccer match in the San Diego region.
Argentina's Lionel Messi, runner-up for FIFA's 2007 World Player of the Year is on the roster.
