From MVN Soccer (part 2 of 2),
The historic World Cup Qualifier that saw the U.S. Men's National Team visit Cuba for the first time since 1947 ended in a 1-0 win for Team USA. However, on the way, there were power outages, stifling heat and humidity, and the approaching Hurricane Ike...
The same player who made the first goal in the teams' last meeting (a CONCACAF Gold Cup match in Seattle, 2005) made the winning goal in Havana here in this important semifinal qualifier for the 2010 FIFA World Cup; that was Clint Dempsey (40'), who plays his club ball with Fulham FC of the English Premier League. The U.S. has won both of their semis, and this is their third consecutive away match. The six points put them in a great position for the home legs, which begin later this week.
Here are some more USA @ CUBA features on this match for you to ENJOY =)
