His journey started in Foxborough, Mass., when he dribbled a soccer ball out of Gillette Stadium following a New England Revolution-D.C. United match and Ethan Zohn has made his way through rural Connecticut and into Manhattan, where Friday the former Survivor star was honored by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his Grassroot Soccer United campaign.
"It was cool because I'm used to dribbling on the roads of Connecticut where I don't see a person for miles, but here in New York City it was great," Zohn said. "Everyone was coming out, trying to steal the ball from our feet. It was fun."
Zohn's 550-mile journey will take him to Washington D.C., where he will look to break the Guinness World Record for dribbling a soccer ball in a 24-hour period on Nov. 30. The next day his trek ends, appropriately enough on World AIDS Day because Zohn's foundation -- Grassroot Soccer United -- is a youth-led movement to end AIDS in Africa.Read the complete article here VIDEO - MLS Works teamed with Ethan Zohn and Grassroot Soccer for the midpoint of Ethan's 500+ mile trip from Boston to DC...dribbling a soccer ball the whole way...
