Womens Professional Soccer, the new league owned in part by 2-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and former Yahoo! CEO Jeffrey Mallett, today held its General Draft for the inaugural 2009 season. Draft consisted of four rounds of selections of international and domestic players for all seven WPS teams.
Previously, players from the national teams had been allocated as a first step to determining rosters. More players will be added in the future through tryouts, additional allocation prior to the spring 2009 kickoff.
